Freeskate Interview with Luca Ulivieri - PS FSK member

Name and Nickname:

Luca Ulivieri (LuKa)

Age:

I am 19.

Where were you born? Where do you live now?

I was born in Cecina and now I live in Vada in the province of Livorno

When did you start skating?

I have started skating when I was six years old

When did you begin to compete in Freeskating? and in which discipline?

I have started to compete in Freeskating when I was 11 years old and with all the discipline of freestyle: speed slalom, style slalom and roller cross. The next year I practiced high jump too.

Which is the biggest accomplishment that you will never forget? Why?

My biggest accomplishment is the first place in style slalom in the World Championships at Gessate (near Milano) in 2007, because for me this discipline is very fascinating but hard too! I was very happy when I heard my name to be on the top step of the podium!

Which disciplines do you practice and Why?

I love all the disciplines of  "Freestyle Skating"! I practice speed slalom, style slalom, jam slalom, free jump, high jump and roller cross.

What projects are you working on right now?

Now I am a coach 1st level of  "Freestyle skating" and I am training my team: the A.S.D. VADA PATTINAGGIO. I believe that in November I will do the course to be coach 2nd level of "Freestyle skating" organized by FIHP (Federazione Italiana Hockey e Pattinaggio).

What are your goals this year?

My intention is to participate at the next  WORLD CHAMPIONSHIP OF FREESTYLE SLALOM, ITALIAN CHAMPIONSHIP as well and to obtain great results in the three disciplines of slalom

Which skates are you using right now? and which setup - which wheels? and why?

Now I am using the freeskates HARDCORE EVO 2010 for style slalom, but very soon for speed slalom too. Talking of style, in these skates I have a frame 231mm with differents wheels (72-76-76-72): I use the rockering to be very free with my movements. On the contrary for speed
I use a frame 243mm with all the wheels (80mm) to be faster among the cones.

Anyone you would like to thank, or say? - its your big chance!

Thanks!
